Question 4

via GIPHY
Script for tutorial.
To edit my music promo I used Sony Vegas pro 14 as it is a lot more precise than some other platforms such as IMovie. Firstly to cut to the beat I played the clip along with the music and used the enter key on the keyboard to stop playing the video while keeping the marker on the beat I paused it on. You can then right click on the clip and select trip end or start depending on which section of the clip you want to stay. For the ghosting effect I uploaded the same video clip three times on top of each other. As the only video able to play at this point I the clip placed in the main video section, therefore I had to change capacity of each video so they played at the same time. To do this I selected the clip I wanted to adjust and pulled down the capacity bar at the top of the clip until I could see all three clips together. To get all of the clips to drag and create the ghosting effect I kept the first clip how I originally edited it, for the other two clips I cut alternating lengths of the beginning using the same trim clip as I showed in cutting to the beat. In order to add different colours to each clip I first select the tab called Video FX and from the suggestion list I selected colour corrector and for each clip dragged the selected colour highlights over the clip, to intensify the colour I did this step twice.

Ancillaries ideas
For the first idea for our ancillary digipacks, we decided that the front of the page should be a mid-close up of the male character who is essentially stalking a girl. using Photoshop we will then add the ghosting effect which is overlaying an image with a low opacity, each with different colours so that they drag away from each other creating a ghost like effect. Using this effect we will synergise our poster, digipak and video together as all three sources will have the ghosting effect.
The back of the digipack will have a mid shot of the back of the boy looking down in the left section of the page, this is so you can link the character to the other sources, it will also leave room for the writing at the opposite section of the page.
The second idea of the digipack front was to have a mid shot of the male character in the centre of the front with the title of the band and the album name. For the back page we will use a similar mid shot but of the back of the males head showing him running his hands through his hair insinuating that he is going crazy and is stressed out. This will also leave room on the back of his T-shirt to put the information.
The other digipack idea was to have the front similar to the previous idea but to change the text so that it looks more like the text that the band have used for their other album. The back of the digipack will be of behind the male character looking at the pictures of the girl on the wall and to have the text going over the top of this image. This was because it made a reference to our music video which is what the first idea did not do.
For middle where the disk will be placed, I came up with the idea of having the camera that the boy has used to take pictures of the girl presented centeral so that the disk fits where the lens of the camera is. I think this is a good idea as the similar shapes will correlate and add detail to the indide of the digipak.
On the back where the lyrics are displayed will be presented so that the lyrics are above the boy laying on the couch where he is shown in the beginning of the music promo, this will also synergise the digipak and the promo.
